Unity in response to energy security and climate crises, IEA Ministerial Meeting

The IEA Ministerial Meeting (March, 23-24) with the participation of energy and climate ministers representing more than 40 governments discussed the severe energy market turmoil appeared due to the conflict in the Eastern Europe, and the measures to be urgently introduced in support of the energy security.

The IEA efforts are clearly oriented to ensure the energy security and the clean energy transition. As an immediate measure the IEA Member Countries agree on the new emergency oil stock release. On the other hand, the key role of energy savings to reduce oil and gas dependency and costs for consumers was reaffirmed and specific measures will be introduced to face the market volatility and challenges.
