The Final Conference of the ECF4CLIM Project will be hosted by CIEMAT in collaboration with the Madrid demonstration site. Over three days, researchers, educators, policymakers, students, and community partners from across Europe will come together to review the project’s achievements and explore future pathways for strengthening sustainability competences through education.
Day 1 focuses on a visit to the associated demonstration site in Madrid and a Creative Exchange between schools. The conference will open at CIEMAT, followed by a guided visit to CEIP Mozart, one of the project’s primary school demonstration sites. The programme includes classroom visits, presentations of school-level sustainability interventions, the presentation of the ECF4CLIM Roadmap, interactions with local authorities, the Best International Award ceremony, and a walk through the historic centre of Alcalá de Henares.
Day 2, hosted at CIEMAT, is dedicated to Project Results and Collaborative Discussions. Highlights include key insights from interventions across all demonstration sites, debates with project partners, Advisory Board members and policymakers, a presentation of the hybrid participatory approach developed through the project, the Advisory Board feedback session, and parallel meetings for research teams and demonstration sites. The day concludes with a joint conference dinner.
Day 3 presents an overview of ECF4CLIM’s main results, followed by key insights from Finland, Portugal, Romania, and Spain. The conference closes with a high-level panel summarising the main challenges and lessons learned throughout the project.
This Final Conference marks an important milestone for ECF4CLIM, showcasing three years of collaborative work dedicated to developing a European competence framework for a low-carbon and sustainable society through education.
